The International Research and Archives Network for children’s and young people’s drawings exists since 2017. The network connects archives, collections and research institutes worldwide with the aim to investigate pictures made by adolescents. Here we find excellent sources for views of the world especially in times of crisis of the 20th century e.g. two World Wars, genocides, flight and expulsion. These sources are largely unexplored.
The network targets the examinations of children’s works in terms of the history of mentality in order to study the formation of world pictures and the changes they go through: the world pictures that develop during childhood and adolescence especially shape a person’s later perspective on the world.
